The AAMD is extremely proud to present the 2019 Outstanding Achievement Award to Cory Neill. Cory has been a CMD for over 10 years and obtained his Master’s degree in 2014. He is currently a dosimetrist at Carson-Tahoe Radiation Oncology Associates in Carson City, Nevada. Cory was elected to the MDCB Board of Directors in 2014 and has served for 5 years.
Cory has been an active member and volunteer for the AAMD, serving as the co-chair of the Information Technology Committee. After serving as an Associate Editor for the AAMD journal, Medical Dosimetry, Cory is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. Although he has only been the Editor-in-Chief since 2017, he has made significant improvements to the publication’s editorial processes. Cory has also held several leadership positions in the ASRT, including participating as a peer reviewer on the Editorial Review Board for the Radiation Therapist journal.
Cory has not only made significant contributions to the field of medical dosimetry in the United States, but also internationally. He volunteered with RAD-AID to travel to Yinchuan, China to share his knowledge of treatment planning techniques and train the physicians and physics staff. While there, he gave 3 presentations and assisted third party non-government agencies in setting up remote planning. Cory has published numerous articles in several publications. He has also given live presentations at AAMD annual and regional meetings. He continues to expand his own skills and knowledge in order to help others in the medical dosimetry field.
Congratulations, Cory!
